Artist's Comments

I found this statue quite moving. It is located at the Korean War Museum. It depicts a true story of how an Older brother that was fighting for South Korea saw his little brother on the North Korean side and ran to him.

I do not know the rest of the story, but I was moved when I saw this.

It's a moving story, that must have happened a lot during the Korean War. And it looks like it is in the middle of a road too!

There are families on both sides of the DMZ that cannot see each other more than once a year for about 4 hours. When I saw the statue, I was kinda moved... heh...

It is moving...It must be very rough to know that you cannot see your own family member because of the fact they live on the enemy side...It really reminds me of how it was with Berlin at the time Russia erected a wall on their side.
